Eddie was born in Georgia as the son of a Baptist Minister. He had 15 siblings to grow up with, 11 girls and 5 boys... Eddie's family moved to Melbourne, Florida in 1957. His parents were hard working, God-oriented people who raised their family on great principles through difficult times, understandably. With the family's musical inclinations and raw talents for singing gospel, Eddie was easily inspired to go even further in his musical pursuits. He attended school at Melbourne High, and at the age of 22, moved to Miami. In Miami, Eddie began entertaining in the Cotton Club singing Rhythm and Blues, where he met Blues Legend, Mr. Joey Gilmore. Joey Gilmore and his band, TCB Express invited Eddie to tour with them as opening performer at their shows in Miami, Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Betty Padgett, who was also previously invited into the tour group before Eddie, was a wonderful performer who deeply encouraged and inspired Eddie even more. Jimmy Bohorn later approached Eddie, and began booking Eddie to open for himself, Al Green, and Tyrone Davis for over 2 years. Eddie also did his R&B show at the Diamond Club in Deerfield, Florida where he was eventually hired on as a regular performer doing several shows a week as the top act. In a year's time there, he gained notoriety in the entertainment spotlight, meeting many new people and entertainers. New opportunities arose in Melbourne, and Eddie's longing for stronger family ties and a desire to be nearer to them helped change his career choices, and he began performing his Motown acts all over the Space Coast area. He performed before packed crowds in local hotspots such as Tiffany's, Fiddlesticks, Sebastian Beach Inn and the Cove. While performing, Eddie met up with Joe Davis, another Melbourne talent and performer in his own right, and they started sharing musical performances together under the band names of the "Sounds of the Drifters" and "The Final Touch Band", the latter of which, Eddie was the lead vocalist. Eddie then began performing his Motown Revue in Jacksonville, Daytona, and Daytona Beach 3 years later, where Eddie met Edwin Butler, of the band "The International Platters", where Eddie was invited to travel overseas to perform with them. After a year traveling abroad, Eddie returned to do numerous lounge performances in Orlando for over 2 years at many of the area hotels, particularly, the Hyatt Regency, Holiday Inn, Ramada, and so on. Upon returning to Melbourne, Eddie met Don "Tree" Reese, the former drummer of the Mamas & The Papas, and Tree helped Eddie form the popular local group Resouled, which backed Eddie's Motown Revue Show, and the combination kept the crowds bubbling and dancing to their Motown sound, and excited to come back again and again... This lounge routine kept Eddie busy with fun and excitement for over 3 years at Buddy's Restaurant and Lounge. Carl Gardner of the Coasters had his 72nd birthday party at Club Med in Vero Beach, and Eddie was invited to the Big Bash Celebrity Party, which included guests such as Martha and the Vandellas, Sha Na Na, Bill Pinkney and the Drifters, and lots of the doo~wap bands. It was genuinely fun for everyone, a memory of a lifetime. This led to an award given to Eddie as the "Most Favorite Vocalist In Brevard County" in 2003 and 2004.
